Organisational Capacity Strengthening for Local NGOs in Mali

We’re strengthening the institutional capacities of national organisations in Mali to enhance their ability to deliver high-quality nutrition programmes.

Critical Nutritional Situation in Mali

The nutritional situation in Mali for 2024 is classified as an “emergency” due to armed conflicts, internal displacement, limited humanitarian access, and climate-related challenges. An estimated 3.3 million people, including 2.4 million children under 5 and 908,866 pregnant and lactating women, require urgent nutritional assistance (Global Nutrition Cluster: Mali Humanitarian Needs Overview)

Mali has been selected as one of three priority countries

RedR UK is collaborating with the Global Nutrition Cluster Technical Support Team and the Mali Nutrition Cluster in a capacity-strengthening project for 5 local partners in Mali. The initiative aims to enhance their broader organisational and institutional capacities, enabling them to deliver more effective Nutrition in Emergencies (NiE) interventions.

About the Project

RedR is supporting the GNC Operations Team and Nutrition Cluster Coordination (NCC) team in Mali in examining organisational capacity development plan reports of selected local/national actors (LNAs) to prioritize learning programmes.

Based on this analysis, RedR will be delivering 3 training packages: Monitoring and Evaluation, Proposal Writing and Resource Mobilisation, and Human Resources. Over the next few months, RedR experts will develop and adapt the courses to the context and translate all materials into French, to ensure accessibility. Our experts will facilitate on-line sessions in early 2025 targeting key staff of the five local partners.
