Simulations
We design and deliver immersive simulations for applied humanitarian learning
A core aspect of RedR UK’s learning methodology is that training should be highly applicable and easily integrated into development and humanitarian work.
We support the application of learning from theory to practice by developing simulations and integrating these into training programmes, giving participants the chance to use their new-found knowledge in practical, real-life situations.
Our simulations
RedR has designed and facilitated hundreds of simulation exercises over the years, including:
- Immersive disaster response simulations for corporate partners that build cross‑cutting skills, strengthen team cohesion, and enhance understanding of the humanitarian sector.
- Our flagship training “Security Management for Humanitarians”, delivered through participatory methods and a realistic simulation activity testing the abilities learned in managing security in an emergency;
- A forecast-based financing and anticipatory action module featuring a simulation based on case studies and meteorological predictions – as part of our climate change adaptation and disaster risk reduction course;
- The ‘Essentials of Humanitarian Practice’ course delivered to hundreds of trainees to prepare them for overseas deployment, including simulation-based learning to enhance real-world applications.
