It’s now been one year since the devastating 2010 floods in Pakistan. In Sindh province many people are still struggling to get back on their feet. In some parts of Sindh the floodwaters have still not receded, meaning that people are forced to continue living in temporary shelters. Where the water has receded, it has left a dry and silted wasteland.
However, with support from local and national organisations some communities are managing to cultivate rice this season – the first since last year. And with the small income they are generating, communities are beginning to rebuild their homes and their lives.
