Role description

An exciting and challenging opportunity has arisen for an experienced Fundraising Officer to support our fundraising team in meeting their income generating targets.  The Fundraising Officer will work as part of the fundraising and communications team at RedR. Their role is to deliver RedR’s open and bespoke programme of challenge events, manage the annual Wear Red for RedR fundraising campaign, assist with the delivery and development of our exciting Disaster Relief Challenges, and support the team with the delivery of corporate partnerships by engaging employees in challenge events, volunteering and other opportunities. 

Person Specification

Essential

  • Demonstrable experience of building and developing relationships
  • Numerate and driven to achieve financial targets
  • Experience of organising and/or participating in fundraising activities
  • Effective workload management skills and ability to use initiative to solve problems
  • Willingness to take on responsibility
  • Excellent interpersonal and team skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Computer literacy in MS Office

Desirable

  • Experience of using the Salesforce database
  • Experience of working on charity-corporate partnerships
  • Experience using InDesign and Photoshop software (or a willingness to learn)
  • Understanding of international humanitarian work

Security Project & E-learning Coordinator

Role description

The aim of this job is to coordinate the delivery of our ECHO funded Humanitarian Security Incident Information Management: Sharing, Training and Analysis (SIIM) project. The main focus of your role will be ensuring the successful delivery of the project but you may from time to time also be asked to support the development and delivery of courses for the Tailor Made programme.

Person Specification

Essential

  • At least 5 years of experience in humanitarian aid or development, training and or capacity development
  • Experience of effectively managing projects funded by institutional donors;
  • Experience of budgeting and budget management;
  • Experience of developing and facilitating e learning methodologies;
  • Ability to deliver effective training to adults;
  • Ability to represent the organisation externally and to develop networks;
  • Effective workload management skills and ability to use initiative to solve problems;
  • Excellent interpersonal and team skills;
  • Computer literacy in MS Office;
  • Willingness and ability to undertake travel internationally to often insecure and difficult environments for periods up to 2 weeks.

Desirable

  • Experience of managing ECHO funded grants;
  • Experience and understanding of security and security management in the humanitarian sector;
  • Experience of identifying, contracting and managing consultants;
  • Fluency in Spanish, Arabic or French an asset.

Finance Officer

Role description

The Finance Officer role is an excellent opportunity to gain experience of working within the finance team of a dynamic humanitarian charity. The role involves the posting of all invoices and bank transactions to the finance system, monthly reconciliations of key accounts, and ensuring payments to suppliers are kept up to date. Co-ordination of staff expenses and control of petty cash are also a part of the role.

Person specification

You will have a general accounting experience in purchase ledger, sales ledger and petty cash processing.   You will have a flexible approach to work, enjoy working on your own initiative as well as being part of a team and you will demonstrate strong communication skills. You will be ideally working towards a recognized accounting qualification and have excellent Microsoft Office skills, especially in Excel.

Trusts Coordinator 

The Role

As a Trusts Coordinator you will support the Fundraising Director in making approaches to companies, trusts and foundations through research, proposal writing, preparation of presentations and administration. The role is suitable for a person who is interested in international development, is a gifted crafter of proposals and has a good sense of how to engage a reader. You will enjoy the challenge of engaging prospective donors in our work, of collaborating with the RedR project delivery teams both in the UK and internationally, and be inspired by RedR’s mission to improve disaster relief worldwide.

Person Specification

Essential

  • Experience winning significant funding from Trusts and Foundations, ideally for international humanitarian or development projects
  • Excellent research skills
  • Excellent copy writing skills – an ability to present an appropriate and persuasive case for support
  • Strong attention to detail including good proof reading skills and comfortable working on financial information and budgets
  • Good organisational skills, an ability to assess opportunities and challenges and prioritise work
  • Strong interpersonal skills and an ability to liaise confidently within the office, with colleagues internationally and with external contacts
  • Confidence networking and building relationships with individuals, trusts and major donors
  • Computer literacy in MS Office
  • Fluency in written and spoken English
  • Commitment to the humanitarian sector

Desirable

  • Experience working on Major Donor research and prospecting
  • Experience working with international teams
  • Experience of working for an international NGO, preferably in the humanitarian or international development sector.
  • Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite
