Those identified to be First Aid personnel in their organisations and/or relief workers who spend a lot of their time in the field. It is very useful course for support personnel such as guards, drivers and cleaners.
This 3-day course provides an opportunity for individual aid workers, and consequently their agencies, to better understand the health-related and workplace safety risks inherent to their work and how to deal with them. This involves identifying the risks unique to their context and looking at preventative measures. There is also training in basic life saving and First Aid procedures in order to enable participants to respond to incidents that do occur. The facilitation is shared between RedR and the Sudanese Red Crescent. Translated materials will be used in the training and where possible.
By the end of the course participants will be able to:
· Identify the contents of a First Aid Box
· Describe vector prevention methods
· Demonstrate fire prevention and response
· Identify workplace safety hazards and prevention strategies
· Display & Describe the treatment for common traumatic injuries and conditions
· Display & Describe CPR
Training conducted by Internationally accredited First Aid Trainers, in addition to the RedR Sudan staff team will train both national and international staff.
