RedR Recruitment Service

RedR provides a high quality international recruitment service for leading aid agencies, governments, and private sector companies involved in disaster relief.

Our reputation is based on the quality of the candidates we supply and our high level of service. We have 30 years experience recruiting specialist professionals following major emergencies, such as the Asian tsunami or Pakistan earthquake.

RedR operates across a wide range of disciplines, sectors and countries – and through our register of 1,700 highly experienced members we are able to respond to emergencies at short notice.

Recruitment Register

RedR currently has a pool of approximately 1,700 members. We are constantly expanding our membership register to respond to the changing needs of the sector and to ensure that we are always ready for the next big emergency.

From our Register we can provide personnel across all areas of the humanitarian sector, however we specialise in:

  • Engineering
  • Health
  • Logistics
  • Security
  • Management consultants
Ensuring Quality

We only recruit candidates from our register of assessed members. RedR members have extensive field experience in areas such as emergency shelter, water, sanitation and hygiene, health and logistics. All members undergo a strict vetting process to ensure they have the right knowledge, skills and competencies to be deployed in an emergency situation.

As part of the assessment, RedR checks professional references and conducts an intensive 4-stage panel interview with expertise in candidate's area of specialization. This covers:

  1. Discussion of career history, particularly the nature of previous overseas assignments
  2. Assessment of competencies
  3. Consideration of managerial skills, from technical supervision to programme management
  4. Evaluation personal qualities, including team-working skills, cross-cultural sensitivity, tolerance, etc.

The assessment and competency framework was developed by people with many years' experience of working in the humanitarian sector to ensure that candidates accepted onto the RedR register are the right people to employ in a humanitarian situation.

“We always think it is worthwhile sending the job description to RedR in case they have anyone suitable. ... There are roles that RedR finds it easier to recruit in so we use them specifically for difficult to fill positions."
