Finding the right candidates

The British Red Cross Society’s International Training and Personnel Department has been using RedR’s recruitment services since April 2005, especially for difficult to fill positions.

“We always think it is worthwhile sending the job description to RedR in case they have anyone suitable. Unlike other recruitment services you have nothing to lose because you don’t pay unless they find someone suitable. If they do manage to find someone suitable and quickly then it is an invaluable service.

“There are also roles that RedR finds it easier to recruit in so we use them specifically for difficult to fill positions.

“For a lot of people in the commercial sector RedR’s recruitment service also offers them the chance to get involved in relief and development work. Professionals with a range of skills can sign-up to be called on for short-term placements. It is nice to offer a service that gives people the opportunity to work in the humanitarian sector - something other agencies often don't do.

“As with most aid workers I believe the RedR candidates make an excellent contribution in the field. The experience of many RedR candidates is good and the broad spectrum this represents is an asset to our programmes.”
