  1. Breaking Taboos: Training Trainers on Menstrual Hygiene in Emergencies

    RedR UK has just hosted the first training on Menstrual Hygeine Management in Emergencies. The training was attended by WASH Trainers from lead aid agencies and private consultancies. Sarah House, an independent Water & Sanitation Engineer, Sue Cavil of WaterAid, and Michelle Farrington of RedR UK collaborated to organise and design the training.

  2. 6.6. magnitude earthquake hits Sichuan province, China

    On Saturday morning a 6.6 magnitude earthquake hit Sichuan province in south-west China, killing over 200 people and injuring nearly 12,000. An estimated 100,000 homes were reduced to rubble.

    RedR would like to say a big thank you to all our runners who took part in the London Marathon yesterday. Nine RedR supporters joined some 36,000 runners in completing the 33rd annual race around the city.

  5. Major earthquake hits Iran

    Iran has been hit by a 7.8 magnitude earthquake. The huge earthquake was felt in neighbouring Pakistan and India, and across the Middle East. The earthquake took place at 10.44 UK time, near to the cities of Khash and Saravan - close to the Pakistan border - which have a combined population of nearly half a million.
