Improving disaster response

RedR has a wealth of knowledge and expertise across many areas of humanitarian work, which it shares within the disaster relief sector. By sharing knowledge and expertise, we contribute to improving disaster response and helping ensure that  affected communities receive the best possible aid following an emergency.

We are involved in a number of a initiatives including the UN-led Cluster Approach of humanitarian coordination – developing materials and training for the Water, Sanitation and Hygiene, Shelter and Nutrition clusters.  As well as running an annual Security Forum, we are also involved in the production of specialist publications – Safety & Security Review, Health Exchange magazine and Engineering in Emergencies book, all aimed at sharing knowledge and best practice in disaster relief.
